POSITION OBJECTIVE
Under the leadership of the superintendent, the Equipment Operator B reports to the 1st assistant for direction. Use of manual labor is required to complete golf maintenance related tasks. The ability to operate utility vehicles, power equipment, and other motorized equipment to perform related work as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain all golf course areas and golf course landscaping. Involves use of hand-held type equipments such as:
    • Weed eaters
    • Self-propelled walking mower
    • Backpack blowers
    • Fly mower
    • Edger
    • Rakes, scuffle hoe, and shovels
    • Dew whips
    • Level lawns
    • Hedge trimmers
  • Operate utility carts
  • Operate bunker machine
  • Hand rake bunkers
  • Detail bunkers by edging and fly mowing
  • Weed pulling
  • Top dressing tees with designated sand
  • Maintains cart paths (edge and blow)
  • Daily cleanup of equipment and facility
  • Blow fairways and rough with pull behind blower
  • Spread pine and hardwood mulch. Involves standing, load/unload mulch and hand spreading.
  • Perform heavy physical labor requiring strength, dexterity, and agility.
  • Utilize a sod cutter and install sod
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Use of triplex machines for tees, greens, collars and approaches
  • Mow rough with a 3500
  • Capability of driving a tractor and trailer
  • Walk mow greens
  • Understand the game of golf and the relationship between maintenance and golfers.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Perform job responsibilities and operates equipment according to the company safety and training programs
  • Use personal protective equipment as trained and required
  • Report safety or hazard concerns to management
  • Report any on the job injury to management immediately
  • Takes personal responsibility for safety every day
  • Report equipment issues to Equipment Manager immediately
  • Must be able to bend, stretch and lift up to 80 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to perform outdoor physical labor in varying weather conditions

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous experience utilizing outdoor power equipment
  • Exposure to working outside for long periods of time

SCHEDULE

  • Golf Course Maintenance operates 7 days per week. Service Professional must be available to work weekends and overtime hours as required
