Estimating Engineering Technician

Metal Fabrication Manufacturer is seeking an Estimating Engineering Technician.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Estimating/ Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting the department by working with new and future vendors during the quote process, managing ECN’s, and supporting the department as required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESTIMATING DUTIES:

• Insure that the Estimating Department is operating within the framework and required procedures and processes of the QMS during the Sales Estimating Process.

• Prepare quotes for the Estimating department by creating electronic and hard copy folders as well as creating the final documentation to send to the customer.

• Maintaining an up to date quote log by entering in and tracking quotes, populating all fields for Sales.

• Support department by getting pricing, delivery and vendor capability information as required.

• Assist in the RFQ Process when additional information may be required from vendors.

 

ENGINEERING DUTIES:

• Owner of the ECN Process – Interface with all departments to complete ECN’s

• Input into the Production Folders & ERP System as a result of the contract review process the bill of materials and routing sequences required for part production and costing.

• Overlooking and maintaining the company’s Intuitive ERP System which includes:

- Design sheet metal products to meet customers’ requirements

- Create BOMS and detail drawings that are used to manufacture the product

• Maintain accurate revision levels of company or customer prints.

• Verification and insertion of current documents into the Intuitive ERP System and removal of uncontrolled documents as needed.

 

NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Assisting the department in day to day clerical tasks.

• Assisting the group with the development of current and new processes

• Assisting the group when assigned the task of monitoring a new, revised or existing program from cradle to grave.

• Participating in and providing resources for the timely resolution of all corrective action requests that need Department assistance.

• With the assistance of the department associates, identify and document Continuous Improvement opportunities.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associates Degree in Drafting, Engineering, or other related field

Experience: 1-2 years or equivalent combination of experience and education

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Products, Auto-CAD, Solid Modeling Experience

 

Special Requirements:

Language Skills -

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical prints

Reasoning Ability -

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and report information back to supervisor

 

Salary: $16.00-$25.00

Shift: 1st 6:00am-2:30pm and 2nd 2:30pm-10:00pm

Term: Fulltime to Hire
