Overview: The Billing Coordinator performs avariety of duties associated with preparation and entry of data into thePractice Management system including charges and demographics.
EssentialFunctions: include followingspecific and established procedures regarding the input of billing informationinto the practice management system, which includes the pre-processing, codingand organizing data into batches.
Follows up with rebills, denials,transfers and purged accounts.
Notifying the Manager of Billing andCollections of issues arising from erroneous codes, missing information,error/edit messages or any other issues not covered by specific guidelines andprocedures.
Responsible for quality andcontinuous improvement within the job scope.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experiencein data entry.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities: Ability to establish and maintaineffective working relationship with staff.
Must be dependable and wellorganized.
Ability to follow written and oralinstructions and to work with general guidance.
Ability to read, write, speak andunderstand the English language fluently.
Knowledge of Fee For Service billingrequirements.
Knowledge of CPT-4, ICD-9 coding andmedical terminology.
Excellent keyboard and 10 key skills.
Ability to travel locally.
