POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Leisure Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing the transient, travel agency and wholesale business for the resort. They are accountable for representing the hotel in a professional sales capacity, focusing on stimulating new business for the Transient market segments of the hotel including, but not limited to, Leisure, Corporate, Consortia, and Wholesale sales. Responsibilities included, targeting and securing new accounts, attending travel and trade show-related activities, presenting the property to travel agencies and reservation call centers, and liaising between the Director, Sales and Marketing, Reservations & Revenue Management, and the Corporate Director of Travel Industry Sales.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS

  • Sales Manager will increase Domestic and International leisure client base and ensure repeat business through exceptional relationship-building, negotiating and management of top-accounts.
  • Grow the domestic and international Travel Wholesale/Receptive market segment through maintaining existing accounts and acquisition of new accounts (tour operators, travel agents and consortia's)
  • Sales Manager must respond to customer inquiries and request for pricing.
  • Plan for and execute inside/outside sales calls, training sessions and client entertainment with Corporate Travel Managers, Travel Agents and other intermediaries.
  • Sales Manager will host and direct on-property Travel Partner FAM’s/Sites/Educational Tours
  • Support and work all Leisure Travel promotions with Revenue and Marketing Team
  • Conduct research on client room nights/revenue performance and competitive analysis
  • Monitor production for each account and report accordingly to corporate specifications.
  • Prepare account performance reports weekly, quarterly and annually.
  • Sales Manager must conduct monthly account review meetings with DOSM and corporate representatives.
  • Implement marketing initiatives as outlined in the marketing plan for appropriate accounts.
  • Maintain in-depth files on all accounts; via Delphi Property Management System.
  • Set and negotiate, with direction from Corporate Office and property DOSM, all rates for wholesale, special corporate/preferred corporate accounts locally and any local volume negotiated accounts.
  • Sales Manager must understand the transient sales strategies, promotional programs and strengths and weaknesses of competitive properties and the market.
  • Establish strategic sales presentations to achieve the resort’s objectives for profitable growth and maximum occupancy.
  • Sales Manager will develop and execute comprehensive sales, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of the resort.
  • Serve as liaison with outside agencies on ongoing promotional campaigns.
  • Monitor competition and marketing activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image for the resort and the brand.
  • Monitor operational implementation with all departments.
  • Sales Manager will cross sell resort outlets (i.e. spa, dining, golf)
  • Travel required per marketing plan with focus on wholesale, receptive and retail travel agencies.
  • Sales Manager must be self-motivated, team-oriented, ambitious and driven for sales success
  • Execute additional projects as assigned by the Corporate Office or property DOSM


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year degree from college in business related field preferred
  • Travel agency experience a plus


SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Delphi
  • Proficiency in Microsoft excel.
  • Ability to create, generate and interpret revenue reports used to lead the revenue management process.
  • May require overnight travel as required.
  • May require evening, night, holiday or weekend assignments on occasion.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SMS a plus.
