Correctional Officers are responsible for the supervision, care, custody, control and physical restraint, when necessary, of inmates in a Correctional Institution or facility.

No prior experience is necessary, all training is provided.

Compensation: Certified rate of pay is $1,288.

47 Bi-weekly.

Non-Certified rate of pay is $1,159.

63 Bi-weekly.

Additionally, a pay incentive is also available for Correctional Officers who work in the Mental Health Unit: Employees who are assigned to a Mental Health Unit will receive a 10% pay increase above the current $33,500 Certified Correctional Officer Salary.

The to be assigned to this unit are as follows: Be a certified correctional officer, Complete ACA Correctional Behavioral Health Certification, Equivalent of one year accumulated experience in a prison, jail/detention facility or community/work release center providing custodial supervision and working with behavioral/mental health staff in providing care for inmates/offenders in an inpatient mental health unit, residential treatment unit, secure therapeutic unit, intensive management unit, behavioral adjustment unit or other specialized unit or program for inmates with mental illness, and a.

Minimum of forty (40) hours of behavioral/mental health related training.
