CAD/CAM Specialist
Nautique Boat Company – Orlando, FL
Employment Status: Full time

Job Description: Reporting through the Industrial Engineering department, the CAD/CAM Engineer is responsible for all production ready CNC files and related items. This includes but is not limited to producing, managing, and maintaining all CNC files used for production and service parts purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Create optimized production ready nested cut files for production departments
  • Manage new model year carry over of production files
  • Manage obsolete production files over to service parts
  • Create and maintain centralized documents for all CNC parts
  • Track machine utilization and efficiency
  • Create, maintain, and update Kanban cards used by CNC operators
  • Assist in make versus buy analysis
  • Provide information for BOM accuracy
  • Optimize employee production and material efficiency through continuous improvement
  • Work closely with internal groups and departments including engineering, quality, operations, and service parts to troubleshoot problem areas and confirm production needs are met
  • Playing a key role in implementation of new processes, equipment, and products
  • Ensure a smooth transition and integration for all new models’ CNC files

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year post-secondary education or courses with a technology, engineering, or manufacturing focus
  • Must have knowledge of raw materials, production processes, QC, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
  • Strong lean manufacturing experience especially in continuous improvement, elimination of waste, 5S, Kaizen events, and visual management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Able to control operation of equipment and conduct inspections of products and processes to evaluate quality
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to work with minimum direction and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Must possess good organizational and communication skills
  • Must have a team oriented mindset and be able to communicate in front of groups of employees and peers
  • Strong CAD skills in order to analyze, organize and program files for CNC equipment (.dwg, .dxf, AutoCAD, Rhino, Solidworks)
  • Fluent in the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A driven self-starter who takes a proactive approach and has good decision making skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally
