Graphics Assistant - Part-time Long Term Temp

The Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando, Florida invites applicants to apply for the position of Graphic Assistant (Long-term Temp, Part-time at 20 hours per week).

Job Summary:

Works with agency employees/graphic designer to develop, design, and print graphic communications for agency needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age.
• U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to design clear engaging graphic communications for print and web. This will include logos, branded promotional items, web site and social media graphics, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials as needed.
• Ability to coordinate with agency graphic designer and respective department(s) to apply branding and thematic updates to existing brochures and publications.
• Under the supervision of the agency graphic designer and unit manager, ability to perform job tasks required by the agency client.
• Ability to perform special projects/assignments as needed.
• Must possess basic written communication skills and be able to effectively proofread with great attention to detail.
• Must understand basic digital photography equipment and procedures.
• Must be extremely organized and have effective time management skills.
• Must be able to define and work to deadlines.
• Must have basic skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications; must have basic skills in graphic design and desktop publishing applications (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator).
• Must have knowledge of printing and publishing guidelines.
• Must have the ability to learn and utilize specialized applications and use the Internet effectively to research information.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer a candidate who is pursuing/obtained a college degree or certification in Graphic Design. 
• Prefer 1 year related experience.

Salary: $11.44/hour or $11.79/hour with 3+ years of experience
