Candidate would be responsible to assist supervising banquet functions and service personnel to ensure member & guest satisfaction and presentation standards are consistently attained.
Duties include:
- Ensures that equipment is in good working condition. Report mal-functions or problems immediately
- Verify price accuracy’s, State taxes and other charges added to guest checks
- Handle cash and credit cards from guests, as well as member charges according to standards and resort guidelines
- Check condition of furnishings, tablecloths, napkins, skirting, podium etc. before the function begins
- Ensures that tables and bar areas are properly stocked and set up, and inventories are properly completed
- Review BEO specifications and staffing needs to ensure proper coverage during events
- Supervise proper room set-up and breakdown with Banquet staff
- Maintains cleanliness at all times
- Respond immediately and efficiently to last minute changes and requests
- Oversee banquet function from beginning to end and ensure that function operates efficiently according to guest/member requests
- Ensure that all food and beverage items are served hot or cold as determined by specific quality standards
- Ensure that courteous, professional service is provided at all times
- Immediately respond to guest requests and ensures that special requests and needs are attended to
- Exhibit pride in the product and service provided to guest and members
- Greet all arriving guests in a pleasant manner, use names whenever possible when responding to guest requests
- Periodically check with meeting contact to ensure that needs and expectations are being met
- Complete all final paperwork and closing procedures when function is complete
- Ensure that staff receives proper training and develop employees to perform to full potential
- Assist in the Dining Room Coordinator position, as needed
- Attend or conduct pre-meal meetings, staff meetings, or training meetings as requested by the Banquet Department or F&B Operatio.
- And any other duties as assigned by resort management from time to time
- Other assignments as needed
Requirements:
- Food Safety Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of Banquet Captain experience
- Required to stand for long periods, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and reach
- Push pull or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate English. Give and take instructions. Delegate as necessary
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to train staff and direct work flow
- Ability to handle problems quickly and effectively.
- Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to guest needs and concerns
- Ability to work productively with other team members and departments
- Ability to monitor staff productivity and motivate for positive results
