Nautique Boat Company – Orlando, FL
Employment Status: Full time

Job Description:

As a Designer I, you will work as an integral member of Nautique’s Product Design and Development team helping design our award winning Nautique wakeboard, waterski and wakesurf boats. This person will help insure that future designs will be the highest quality in safety, design, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Create visually compelling sketches, drawings and renderings to  communicate ideas for internal and external audiences.
  • Work in 2D and 3D to guide development of new products in various materials and processes.
  • Create technical internal documents such as manufacturing instructions, operating instructions, owner’s manuals and design/engineering guideline   documents.
  • Manage display / library of current and potential materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Create art work and creative direction for graphics and labels, and other 2D art.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for Transportation design
  • Interest in parallel industries that inspire colors and material finishes, such as art and fashion industries
  • 1 to 3 years' experience (including internships, part-time or summer work)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Products – specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Proficient with CAD modeling software.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
  • Strong level of writing proficiency to communicate professionally
  • A well-organized and self-directed team player.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations

Additional Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Story board experience
  • Versed in observational research
  • Passion for the boating industry, particularly the watersports market, is highly valuable.
