Job Description
SENIOR DIRECTOR, ITS OPERATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information or a technology related field from an accredited institution; master’s preferred.
- Thirteen (13) years of leadership experience in technology management to include: strategic planning, budgeting, and Hyper-converged environment.
- Certifications in ITIL and Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Demonstrated success working with and through people in a collaborative environment, establishing goals, objectives and action plans to produce expected results.
- The incumbent is considered to be “critical personnel” during an emergency and can be subject to being held over or called back to a district location at all times.

JOB GOAL:
To manage and lead the Network Services, and Device Management staff in planning, prioritization, design, integration, development, enhancement and implementation of enterprise technologies in support of the learning communities, schools and district administrative offices.

Assistant Director, Device Management; Assistant Director, Network Services.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Models the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization and management tasks.
- Manage all functions and services within the applications section consistent with district goals.
- Provide, as requested, expertise and support to the learning communities and the district to meet enterprise applications and computing needs.
- Develop and provide technology initiatives as deemed necessary for state and federal compliance and school board policy.
- Direct, manage, lead and evaluate department staff in terms of their performance responsibilities and productivity in achieving the district’s goals.
- Collaborate with the CIO, in planning and directing a system of feedback and evaluation of technology support services to determine their responsiveness to learning communities and schools.
- Collaborate with the CIO in the re-engineering and continuous improvement of OCPS business processes and IT infrastructures to achieve more productive, efficient, and valuable use of information and technology-based instructional and administrative investments within OCPS.
- Direct the evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems, ensuring appropriate investment in strategic and operational systems.
- Collaborate with the CIO in the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures and standards relating to the acquisition, implementation, and operation of district-wide information technology.
- Oversee IT service-level agreements with user organizations and monitor IT application performance to and hold IT staff accountable for meeting those service levels.
- Keep the CIO informed about status of projects, issues and incidents in his/her section about which they should be aware.
- Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
- Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
- Develop leadership in subordinates.
- Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
- Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
- Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
* Essential Performance Responsibilities
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Non-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
