DUI Technician

Job Summary:

Administers breath alcohol tests to subjects arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) in Orange County.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Must be able to successfully complete the Basic Breath Test Operator Course approved by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission and be issued a Breath Test Operator permit by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Alcohol Testing Program within six (6) months of obtaining the position. Must also successfully complete continuing education requirements to maintain valid permits.
• Must be a Public Notary within six (6) months of obtaining the position.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license. Must attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if assignment includes driving agency vehicle.
• Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing agency biennial driver’s physical exam.
• Must be able to work in close contact with individuals arrested for DUI, who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
• Must possess superior integrity, honesty, and willingness to be challenged on a regular basis.
• Must be able to work in close contact with individuals arrested for DUI, who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
• Must possess superior integrity, honesty, and willingness to be challenged on a regular basis.
• Potential exposure to blood may occur.  Must follow the general biohazard safety precautions during the DUI process due to potential contamination of infectious materials from the subject during contact.   

Additional Processing:

• Panel Interview.
• Selected candidate will be required to pass a psychological exam.
• Selected candidate must successfully pass a physical exam.

Salary: $14.64/hr or $15.08/hr with 3+ years of experience.
