Job Title:                   Shift Lead -  Food and Beverage Operations

Department:            Food & Beverage

Reports To:              Manager of Food & Beverage Operations

 

OVERVIEW/POSITION PURPOSE:

Provide day-to-day and on-going leadership, direction, vision and support to ensure the Give Kids The World Standards of Quality, Safety, Show and Service Excellence are consistently maintained throughout all Village food and beverage operations, including the Towne Hall Food Court front-of-house experience and dish room operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adherence to all GKTW Core Values and Key Operating Principles
  • Liaison with corporate-supported and funded food operations, including Perkins, Boston Market, Papa John’s, Friendly’s, Unilever, etc.
  • Oversee all food and beverage-related specifics of the GKTW Volunteer experience, such as shift coverages, job assignments, training, recognition and coaching
  • All operational components of the Pizza Kitchen and service counter, Ice Cream Palace, Express Start Breakfast program, Noah’s Nook, Food Court Dish Room, Point of Sale order and delivery operations
  • Stock food court serving lines with clean/sanitized dishes and utensils and other items as needed
  • Assist with receiving of food products and set-up break-down of dining areas
  • The overall experiences of the guests, from arrival, greeting, check-in and flow through food quality, allergy requirements, variety, preparation, presentation, fulfillment of special needs and consistent delivery of Service Excellence
  • Adherence to attendance standards
  • Additional duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS BEYOND NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, balance, use hands and arms
  • Ability to work in inclement weather
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds, unassisted
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include rotating shifts, nights, weekends and/or extended hours of work

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Committed to Quality, Safety, Show and Service Excellence for all Guests
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including a battery-operated golf cart
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or greater
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous food and beverage experience, including culinary
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous management and leadership experience
