The Head Teller provides banking customers with excellent customer service by ensuring the branch operates efficiently while managing the teller staff.
include but are not limited to: Assumes some supervisory control over the tellers, by planning work schedules, distributing and monitoring teller's cash, investigating teller differences, assisting tellers in balancing daily proof, handling more complex customer transactions and training tellers in new procedures.
Ensures adequacy of Branch cash for daily transactions by ordering, shipping currency, coin controlling and distributing cash to tellers within prescribed limits.
Prepares and maintains daily and monthly teller related reports and logs.
Utilizes technology such as Teller Scanning Equipment, Cash Recycling and Cash Dispensing machine and support customers in use of Coin Machines.
Adheres to the VNB Code of Conduct and Service Quality Standards.
Ensures that dual control procedures are followed.
Observes that approved and required security procedures are practiced.
Services customers by processing all monetary transactions.
Oversees sales referral process and coaches teller staff.
Coaches and tests tellers' adherence to bank established guidelines regarding customer service and mystery shops.
Provides feedback on teller performance to Branch Service Manager for performance evaluation completion.
Ensures tellers' compliance with the bank established dress code.
Assists in community events.
Required Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Detail oriented and organized.
Basic math skills.
Basic PC skills.
Ability to prioritize and organize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
Required Experience: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of two years teller experience.
College Degree preferred.
