Job Description

The Superintendent is responsible for organizing, supervising, and directing the work of the assigned job crew performing residential electrical work, including responsibility for job safety standards. The Superintendent will monitor and document the progress of the assigned job including the quality and quantity of work performed by the job crew, as well as serve as the liaison between the job and the General Contractor

What you’ll do:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the job crew employees on a daily basis
  • Discipline and counsel employees as needed, as well as motivate employees on a regular basis
  • Hire and direct the training of employees as needed, as well as discharge employees in accordance with Tri-City policies and procedures
  • Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, and job folder contract scope
  • Attend coordination meetings as required and provide necessary information
  • Monitor and document the progress of the job through the use of appropriate forms listed in the Superintendent Handbook
  • Provide a Lead person with current and accurate information by generating RFI’s, memo’s, and other forms of communication
  • Monitor, direct, and improve as necessary the quantity of work performed by the crew
  • Communicate company policies and procedures to the job crew
  • Apply knowledge of National Electrical Codes as needed
  • Order daily materials as needed and follow up at the end of each work day
  • Monitor and manage tool control for the job site
  • Ensure the job site is properly cleaned up at the end of each work day
  • Insure compliance with all job safety standards established by Tri-City and all regulatory agencies
  • Monitor and track employee work time as necessary, as well as approve work time as needed
  • Perform general residential wiring work as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • A passion for learning and the drive to succeed
  • 4+ years of experience in Residential electrical work. (Journeyman's preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language at a minimum 8th grade level
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Codes
  • Working knowledge of construction, electrical work, systems, and troubleshooting
  • Proficient in the use of all tools and equipment related to residential electrical work
  • Ability to communicate job requirements and safety standards to the crew, as well as a proven ability to motivate large groups of individuals
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Requires the ability to report to jobsites throughout Florida; locations vary depending on individuals home location (i.e., Tampa, Clearwater)
