JOB SUMMARY: Professional work providing supervision to a team of qualified individuals providing transportation services for clients to and from designated locations as coordinated by supervisor. Participates in organization’s continuous quality improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and maintain schedule of staff for efficient pick-up and delivery route schedules.
- Provide oversight to staff operating agency vehicle’s to ensure children arrive safely and promptly to their designated location (placement/daycare/school)
- Ensure staff maintain agency vehicle to manufacturer’s standards and in accordance with the Children’s Home Network policies.
- Work in partnership with the contracted CMOs providers in providing superior customer service, while keeping child safety paramount.
- Monitor child transport equipment (car seats/booster) to ensure all items are road-worthy, and report any unsafe issues to program director immediately.
- Provide supervision and issue any corrective action as needed for staff.
- Obey all traffic laws and comply with all CHNs policies and program operating guidelines.
- Report any traffic violations of staff to Director immediately.
- Share any behavior issues or concerns noted by staff with placement department and case management. Ensure appropriate blend of children during all transport assignments.
- Provide field support to staff as needed.
- Monitor staff to ensure CHN Policy and Procedure regarding transitioning child to another child welfare team member (case manager/caregiver/etc). Ensure all belongings including but not limited to medication, yellow jacket, custody letter and clothing are provided at the time of transition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior successful work-related driving experience preferred. Proven safe driving record required. Driving records will be checked using Motor Vehicle Records from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Experience providing supervision preferred.
Licenses &Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense of license suspension.
- Must possess means of providing job related transportation and show proof of required insurance. Must be insurable under CHN’s current auto insurance policy.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as requested.
- Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.
COMPETENCIES & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
Annual Training Requirements: The following training topics are required annually: Car Seat Safety, Sexual Harassment, Blood-born Pathogens, Workplace Accident Prevention and Reporting, Confidentiality and Privacy Practices, Diversity/Cultural Competency, Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporter Statutes and Methods, Prevention of Violence in the Workplace, OSHA–related training, Crisis Prevention, and Program Goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of child abuse or neglect reporting procedures and methods.
- Knowledge of agency's organizational structure, standard operating procedures, and policies.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors and other individuals in a diverse arena.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, and excel.
- Safe driving skills and practices.
- Ability to provide appropriate and safe supervision to a diverse population of children varying in medical, behavioral and developmental needs.
- Computer skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, FSFN and other identified programs.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
- Visual: ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, read printed materials, and make observations of physical facilities.
- Hearing: ability to understand and comprehend spoken dialogue in individual and group settings.
- Frequent use of hands.
- Ability to speak clearly and effectively.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

- Ability to maintain sitting position for at least ½ of business day;

- Must be able to lift children up to 40 pounds in and out of a car and operate required car restraints based on size and age
- Moderate level of potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens; therefore, eligible for Hepatitis B vaccination series.
