Job Description
We have a wonderful opportunity to join our City Furniture Sales Team as a Residential Interior Designer. The Interior Designer will be responsible for consulting with potential and existing City Furniture Clients to promote design packages and establish design needs.
Responsibilities Include:
* Complete appropriate services according to level of design package purchased (i.e., telephone interview, in-home consultation, shopping assistance, post-delivery in-home meeting and telephone assistance, accessory shopping and placement assistance)
* Work with Clients to establish estimated budget for design plan
* Implement design projects from concept to completion according to the scope of design package and Clients’ expectations, including but not limited to: floor planning and selection of interior specifications, such as color pallets, furnishings, wall coverings, soft goods, art, accessories and finishes
* Suggest furniture, accessories and finishes from City Furniture showrooms or other furniture retailers
* Work with Sales Associates to create invoices, schedule delivery, etc. for purchased product
* Provide Clients with appropriate approved suppliers and/or installers necessary to complete projects
* Maintain acceptable level in Customer Satisfaction Ratings
* Communicate status of all projects to Manager
* Document Client’s information and the progress of all projects in company’s technology tools
* Attend required department and/or team meetings

Job Requirements
Qualifications Required:
* Associates Degree, Associates of Applied Science Degree from accredited institution in Residential Design or related field, or Design Certificate
Languages Required:
* Bilingual: English and Portuguese
Qualifications Preferred:
* Interior Design License
* One to two years of interior design experience
Skills Required:
* PC proficient (i.e., space planning software, Microsoft Office products, Internet Explorer, etc.)
* Conceptual design skills and creative talent
* Strong interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written)
* Sales and customer service skills
* Time management and organizational skills
* Effective problem solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work on a team and independently
* Detail oriented
* Self-motivated
Other Requirements:
* Must be available to work 45 to 50 hour work week, including evenings and weekends
* Must have reliable transportation for travel from showroom to Clients’ homes
* Must possess a valid driver's license and current auto insurance
* Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including light lifting
