SUMMARY
The Reports Designer will create visually captivating donor reports to communicate Jesus Film Project stories, statistics, photos and related information in a way that engages readers with the mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design professional layouts for written reports generated by the Donor Reporting team, including creating infographics and finding and curating appropriate photos, to visually complement the text
• Maintain consistent presentation of JFP brand and adhere to graphic design best practices
• Ensure design elements are in keeping with the intent of the content, staying aware of copy errors
• Work as part of the DR team to meet deadlines and other team objectives
• Interact with others in JFP Development, Marketing & Communications and other departments regarding cohesive presentation of brand and content
• Keep design skills current with trends in nonprofit and design industries as they relate to visual presentation of the JFP story and brand
• Demonstrate and model personal spiritual discipline and assist in development of an environment on the team where individual team members grow in their own Christian walks.
• Personal development - engage in the Staff Development process including creating and implementing a Personal Development Plan (PDP) targeting areas of growth.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned
• Participate in the Christmas Calling Campaign, completing required amount of calls.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Visual communication industry standards
• Adobe Creative apps including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
• Graphic design, typography, and other multimedia design elements
• Advanced personal computer operation, including Microsoft Office and Google apps
• Modern office practices, procedures and equipment
• Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
• Ministry organization, operation, policies and objectives
• Interpersonal skills of tact, patience and courtesy
• Typing speed: 50-60 WPM
• Learn Jesus Film Project vision, mission, and goals and creatively present them in a visual form.
• Juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Analyze situations accurately and determine an effective course of action
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relations with others
• Promote excellence by objectively evaluating work and looking for ways to improve
• Demonstrate a high degree of integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in graphic design or a communications related field plus two years of experience in graphic design, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Non-Profit and/or ministry experience is a plus.
