Mental Health Therapist - LMHC - Teen Xpress - Orange - Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children

Orlando Health APH Teen Xpress isseeking a mental health therapist, as a mental health specialist with ArnoldPalmer Hospital - Teen Xpress you will work with Teens (Middle School &High School) during school hours, you will travel to different schools inOrange County and work in the mobile clinic.

Essential Functions:

Develop comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment and clinical impressionsresponsive to age appropriate patients/family needs and concerns.

Differential diagnosis of mental/emotional disorders using the Diagnostic andStatistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Diagnose biopsychosocial functioning, disability and impairment for the ageappropriate patient/family.

Develop treatment intervention plans with clinical impressions. The plan isdiagnostically driven and outcomes focused with the patient/family andhealthcare team.

Develop an effective working relationship with patient/family to engage,collaborate, advocate and problem solve in order to support and enhance theirmental health strengths and functioning ability.

Utilizes differential diagnostic skills and employs various clinical treatmentinterventions included but are not limited to crisis intervention, solutionfocused therapy, individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy, grief andbereavement counseling, play therapy, sand tray therapy, EMDR, cognitivebehavioral therapy and mental status exams.

Initiate Baker Act.

Facilitate Marchman Act when appropriate.

Facilitates patients psychosocial adjustment along the continuum of care andtransition to next level of care.

Provide mental health education, information, consultation and professionalsupport regarding patient/family needs to the healthcare team members andcolleagues within the department.

Demonstrate initiative and leadership in developing mental health services whichrespond to patient care demands.

Identify practice based on continuous quality improvement.

Maintain an up-to-date, accurate and appropriate record of mental healthactivities in patients medical chart, which does not violate confidentiality.

Meetdepartment/hospital expectations of growth goals set forth by coaching plans.

Ability to perform independently and provide clinical practice in a health caresetting.

Ability to supervise and participate in teaching within the department,hospital and community.

Carecoordination responsibilities and related functions as appropriate for yourpatient population.

Whenappropriate for the clinical setting, must have subspecialty credentialingi.e., sexual abuse, EMDR, CAP, CBT.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with OrlandoHealth policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Education/Training:

Masters degree.

Licensure/Certification:

Maintains Florida state (Chapter 491 Florida Statutes)licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

Experience:

Two (2) years of direct clinical experience preferable in ahealth or mental health setting with an emphasis on population to be served inthe assigned area.

Bilingual (Spanish/Creole) highly preferred.

Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation.
