The Director of IT Services Operations is responsible for the support, planning, performance monitoring, optimization and maintenance of all infrastructure systems for Orlando Health including multiple data centers, thousands of endpoints and the organizations internal data and voice network. The Director of IT Services Operations plans, coordinates, and directs all daily operational activities of these departments and provides direction and solutions that enhance mission-critical operations of the IT department.
The Director of IT Services Operations works closely with the Corporate Director of IT Operations and other key IT/CE decision-makers in identifying and implementing cost-effective technology solutions, training and coaching for all aspects of technical support. This position provides the strategy, leadership, and day-to-day management of the Data Center Infrastructure (NOC) and CONNECT Network (internal voice and data) departments inclusive of infrastructure, software, hardware, networks, and physical security.
Bachelors degree required.
Five (5) years experience in information technology or healthcare required, including three (3) years in an IT leadership role.
Specific expertise and experience in areas of responsibility IT required.
Leads and manages the leaders of Data Center; Connect Network Telecom operations support.
Manages and directs the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and use of all LAN, WAN, infrastructure, and data center systems.
Establishes and maintains operational support services for physical computer connectivity, both wired and wireless.
Establishes and maintains operational support services for servers and server connectivity ranging from Intel-based to mainframe.
Manages vendor support activities, maintenance agreements, and maintenance costs in areas of responsibility.
Provides operational support resources as needed to support IT projects.
Participates in meetings, chairs, or manages, on a 7x24 base, IT system upgrades and emergency conference calls, as needed, in support of the organizations critical infrastructure and application maintenance and upgrades.
Forecasts, plans and budgets for, the organizations storage, server, data center and network capacity in order to effectively support through anticipation instead of reaction.
Establishes and maintains collaborative, supportive, and professional relationships with other members of the IT management team.
Recruits and retains qualified staff and provides them with training and experience that improves their performance and job knowledge.
Provides mentoring and career development to managers and team leaders with the Technical Services area.
Builds relationships with key leadership and management staff throughout the organization.
Establishes the open and positive working relationships with corporate and hospital leadership, board members, physicians, vendors, project stakeholders, and team members.
Works collaboratively with IT, hospital, and corporate leadership in the development, implementation, and support of technical systems.
Creates a climate of empowerment and trust for direct reports.
Manages IT employee issues with honesty, compassion, impartiality, and responsiveness.
Represents the IT department professionally and positively in both formal and informal settings.
Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
