BUS DRIVERS:
To provide safe, efficient and effective transportation for students in support of instructional programs and activities of Volusia County Schools.
Student Transportation Services is currently seeking excellent candidates for School Bus Operator and Attendant positions. PAID training is provided!
Pre-Employment Qualifications for School Bus Operators:
- Complete the online VCS application
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Complete a drug and alcohol screening
- Must be a licensed driver for a minimum of five (5) years with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to obtain a driving permit for a Class B license with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements. (We will tell you how!)
- Must be able to pass a physical examination and dexterity test.
Training Requirements for School Bus Operators (70 hours):
- Online Classroom and 50-question exam
- Behind the Wheel Training
- CDL Training/Testing
- Mentoring
BUS ATTENDANTS:
To assist in providing a safe, efficient, and effective transport of students of Volusia County Schools in support of instructional programs and activities.

Training Requirements for School Bus Attendants (32 hours)
- Classroom/Hands-On
- 50-question written test
- Dexterity Test
