Cancer Registry Representative - Orlando Health Corporate
Orlando health is seeking a Cancer Registry Rep I. This person follows patient records withdesignated categories of neoplasms and conditions diagnosed, treated, and/orfollowed with active disease at Orlando Health Cancer Center and associatedfacilities. Retrieves and analyzesregistry data; disseminates data in accordance with professional ethics.
High school graduateor equivalent.
Excellent written andverbal communication skills
One (1) year experience in healthcare setting required, oractive enrollment in an approved HIM or HIT program.
Conducts follow-up procedures by utilizing availableresources to adequately obtain and update follow-up data in Cancer Registrydatabase (e.g. ERS).
Interacts with physicians conducting follow-up researchstudies completing special studies as required.
Respond to outside follow-up requests from otherregistries providing accurate information.
Maintains individual follow-up rate of 90% on most recent5 years; Maintains individual follow-up rate of 80% from Cancer Registryreference year.
Assists with case-finding procedures; demonstratingability to recognize, and code appropriately, neoplasms and conditions withminimal ongoing training.
Successful completion of > 20 hours of availabletraining annually to stay abreast of current trends in cancer related codingand treatment guidelines.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendanceconsistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, stateand local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies andprocedures.
