Job Description

The East Orlando Chamber of Commerce is currently expanding its Team. The Chamber represents local businesses located in 440 square miles of East Orange County, including Central Florida’s powerful high-technology research park and state of the art healthcare corridor of Lake Nona. The mission of the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce (EOCC) is to be the leader in business advocacy, community engagement and regional connectivity that fosters economic prosperity and success for its members in East Orange County.

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for selling Chamber investment (membership) to prospective non-member businesses by communicating the benefits of the Chamber. Provides detailed information on various programs offered through the Chamber and orients the investor to the organization. This position reports directly to the Chamber President/CEO.

Wage: Base plus Commission with Annual Bonus potential (Commissions Paid Monthly)

Requirements:

  • Proven Outside Sales – ability to show results
  • Previous Chamber involvement
  • Volunteer Experience
  • Employee/Staff Management with experience leading a sales team

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contact, acquire and sell new investments in the Chamber (membership)
  • Schedule appointments and personal visits with prospects
  • Achieve and exceed budgeted revenue goals
  • Comfortable with working out of the office around East Orange County and Lake Nona areas the majority of the time, with occasional time in the office
  • Actively seeks new businesses and follows up appropriately
  • Cold calling on businesses and building trust and visibility to the business community
  • Maintains knowledge of Chamber goals, objectives, and services
  • Remains informed of investor (member) benefits, Chamber events and programs, etc.
  • Actively support and participate in Chamber events and programs
  • Actively identify and attend non-chamber events
  • Works to upsell higher levels of investment (membership)
  • Attends regular sales/staff meetings
  • Maintain CRM member database and provide reports
  • Follow up with membership leads from referrals, Chamber events and inquiries
  • Works with Ambassador Chairperson and attends monthly Ambassador meetings
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills, detailed oriented
  • Must have previous sales experience with track record of meeting and exceeding goals
  • Self-starter with a professional appearance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Must have/maintain a dependable vehicle with proof of license and insurance
  • Ability to prospect/cold-call new businesses and former members
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Out of the box thinker sharing new ideas, concepts, solutions, etc.
  • Capable of maintaining sensitive/confidential information
  • Must be a team player that works well in an adapting environment
  • Must have the ability to foster of investor (member) relations
  • Exceptional people skills with an outgoing personality
  • Flexible schedule, some events are scheduled outside of normal operating hours
  • Employee Management - ability to lead a sales
