The part-time Payroll & HR Records Assistant coordinates and performs high-volume data entry activities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Daily work includes entering personnel action forms and job records data, managing and updating employee records, processing appointment changes, processing payroll deduction changes, scanning documents, assisting with payroll audits and employment verifications. Our mission is to serve all faculty, staff and students with outstanding customer service to ensure that they are paid in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with all state and federal rules, regulations and standards. This position works under the supervision of the Director, Payroll & HR Records.

This is a campus-based position working in an office environment. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 3-4 hours/day, 15-20 hours per week.

Competitive hourly pay rate based on background and work experience. This is a part-time position scheduled to work less than 1,000 hours annually and there are no benefits associated with this appointment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires 1-2 years of job-related experience involving high volume, deadline-driven data entry, data management, document management, and HR/Payroll system maintenance.
  • Positive attitude and passion for high-volume data entry activities in a busy, service-oriented culture.
  • Self-motivated, results oriented, ability to set priorities and work on numerous tasks simultaneously.
  • Works with a high degree of organization, accuracy, attention to detail, confidentiality and strong follow-through skills.
  • Strong proficiency with technology and ability to learn and utilize Ellucian Banner database, Argos reporting, and other technology/systems. Hands-on experience working with integrated database systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Aptitude for data, numbers and ability to use arithmetic, mathematical functions in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong service orientation with a demonstrated ability to effectively meet the needs of and work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, staff, faculty and public.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in ambiguous and ever changing, payroll environment.
