PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Support our organization's thrift store operations; receive, input, sort, load and unload merchandise. Also, an opportunity to assist with cashering/ processing as needed.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities): Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for driving, moving and loading incoming/outgoing furniture onto appropriate trucks by, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling furniture.
- Responsible for carrying out instructions and working rapidly for long periods of time.
- Process and provide donation receipt to donors accurately.
- Categorize, organize and maintain inventory in designated areas (i.e. furniture, clothing, household items)
- Assist with placing items in designated areas;
- Tagging and pricing items as needed;
- Inspect incoming donations.
- Organize and maintain processing area to ensure safety in the workplace at all times.
- Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations;
- Ensure restrooms and retail floors are cleaned at all times;
- Ensure all dressing rooms are clean and there is no merchandise left inside after customer;
- Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures.
- Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items from trucks, donor vehicles, etc. in designated areas in store.
- Ability to operate hand truck and other warehouse equipment.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience driving a box truck.

Internal: Maintains close contact with thrift store personnel and is required to project professional behavior at all times.
External: Provides professional and amicable customer service to individual donors, prospective customers and vendors providing third party services for the store.
Judgment and Decision Making: Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Physical Requirements: The employee may be have to operate a motor vehicle and must have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance. Ability to maneuver furniture, large items and / or any other items in store of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. The employee is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Position can be physically demanding, requiring long hours, standing, walking, stooping, and physical agility and dexterity. Working environment: Retail store environment. Vacation:
- 10 days from date of hire to 5th year.
- From 5th year to 10th year 15 days.
- Day after 10th year anniversary and thereafter 20 days per year.
- Vacation time may be taken after 90 days from date of hire.

Float Holiday: 1 floating holiday per calendar year. Can be taken within the first 90 days.
