SUMMARY

We are looking for an HR Generalist to provide to excellent support and customer service to our local offices in Orlando and Tampa, while also supporting the corporate HR Learning and Development initiatives we are rolling out! This position would be great for a generalist who has some experience in L&D and is looking to gain more knowledge in creating new programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide excellent internal customer service and support for employees, remaining approachable but objective and instilling confidence in employees
  • Guide and educate employees on our company benefits, answering questions and helping employees navigate our benefit resources
  • Administer employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, STD, ADA, and Worker’s Compensation
  • Conducts appropriate analysis to anticipate and communicate current and emerging organizational needs; proactively searches for latest trends in leadership and organization development
  • Evaluates the leadership related training and serves as a liaison between subject matter experts to identify training delivery needs. May facilitate and/or present workshops as part of leadership programs.
  • Promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Knowledge of and ability to uphold the organizations standards, procedures, and policies regarding Human Resources Management
  • Promote and participate in company-wide initiatives; take ownership of assigned events
  • Collects and maintains Human Resource data related to compensation, benefits, training, recruitment, and performance for integrity of HR data. Suggests and makes improvements as necessary.
  • Acts with integrity and responsibility. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports

 

COMPETENCIES

  • Creates exercises, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and other methods of learning including social or connected learning strategies, and multimedia-based assets.
  • Proofreads and edits own work and the work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness of documentation/communication.
  • Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; delivering formal and informal presentations
  • Expert in the use of cloud based HRIS technology, full suite of Microsoft Office software, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong interpersonal skills: able to influence others, diffuse situations, and motivate
  • Proven leadership skills; assists in the development and implementation of specific procedures
  • Uses analytical and problem-solving skills to find creative solutions
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Education, Psychology related field, or PHR/SHRM-CP certification
  • At least 2-4 years of progressive experience, where training and learning facilitation of employees is a key function
  • Comfortable using an HRIS; Paylocity is a plus
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • PHR/SHRM-CP or Master’s in Human Resources
  • Experience with Paylocity HRIS
  • Read and write Spanish is a plus
