Position Purpose

Will be responsible for PowerBI development, data retrieval, and automation of web / mobile applications to the North American Supply Chain Finance teams. 

These responsibilities will include:

  • complex dashboard, automation, and data infrastructure development
  • requirements gathering and end-user support
  • system/software training
  • programming

This role requires superior system / technical and programming skills, preferably in PowerBI development. The candidate should possess the ability to implement advanced analytics and drive the business forward. Additionally, a successful candidate will understand project management methodologies and act as their own project manager, complete with gathering requirements, developing plans, and driving forward to milestones. They will also need to partner with other teams to understand and gain access to systems and data.

The developer will play a major role in the strategic vision of the Supply Chain Finance team, which is to continue building a robust analytical platform through Qlikview and PowerBI development and assist as a thought leader for future innovations. This platform will empower end-users to navigate complex information and accelerate discovery into critical factors that impact cost and service performance.  

This role is split up by these major functions:

  • Individual project work - 70%
  • Group project work - 10%
  • Learning and Training - 10%
  • Customer support for maintaining previous projects and BI environment - 10%

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for leading all aspects of technical design, development, and deployment for the Qlikview, PowerBI, & Python applications
  • Provide technical expertise within Qlikview, PowerBI & Python applications to include: Application Administration; Technical Design; Configuration/Customization; Data Migration/Conversion; Interfaces; Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery; DevOps and technical support.
  • Lead design/code reviews with technical team members per development guidelines
  • Analyse/diagnose data quality or system deficiency issues to provide options for resolution
  • Support system administration, monitoring, security and server management for Qlikview, Python, Database & PowerBI environments
  • Provide leadership and training in the development of technical skills in others through active knowledge sharing/mentoring
  • Manage all aspects of the design, development and implementation of multiple platforms and applications
  • Work directly with business units to define and prototype Qlikview, PowerBI, and Python Applications
  • Requires business and operational understanding of the supply chain network and especially supply chain finance
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain functions to drive decision making
  • Extracting, transforming and mapping “big data” from multiple sources into QlikView and PowerBI applications from SAP, BW, Salesforce, SQL Server, Access, Excel and other sources
  • Translate software requirements into workable programming code and maintain and develop programs for use in business
  • Provides documentation of specifications, test, training and data quality policies and procedures related to the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence systems
  • Performs advanced analytical development on large structured and unstructured data sets; measures, interprets and predicts trends and patterns to inform key decisions
  • Ability to model data in a Data Warehouse
  • Strong drive and passion for learning and staying on the bleeding edge of technology
  • Excellent communicator to facilitate trainings, keep project stakeholders aware of project changes and updates and provide customer service level care to all who reach out for support.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology or equivalent highly technical, data-driven discipline

Experience

3 - 5 years of experience in programming, analytics, business intelligence, or equivalent technical and analytical experience; additional CHEP finance and/or CHEP Supply Chain experience strongly preferred
