Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Member and Guest Relations Coordinator, the Visitor Services Associate II helps to maintain the overall operation of the front desk and works to ensure a quality experience for all museum visitors and callers. A thorough knowledge of the museum's exhibitions, programs, policies, and events is required.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Greet visitors at the reception desk.
• Answer the phone and direct calls.
• Announce guests to staff.
• Track attendance.
• Operate cash register and assist customers with museum store purchases.
• Promote membership to visitors.
• Stock and display of brochures and collateral materials.
• Proofread the RMA website.
• Assist with education and membership department initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
& Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of customer service-related experience.
• Strong service orientation.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to project and maintain consistent professional appearance and behavior.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, members, and the general public.

Additional Position Information:
The position is scheduled to work up to 1,000 hours a year. Must work weekends and hours include:

• Saturday: 11:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday: 11:45 - 5:00 p.m.
• Tuesday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Wednesday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The pay rate is $15.00 an hour. There are no benefits associated with this position.
Work Environment:

• Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in an office environment with other staff members.
• Regular use of a computer.
• Must be able to travel and participate in work-related events (local, domestic and international) and work flexible hours which includes evenings and weekends as needed.
