The Opportunity:
Counseling & Psychological Services is home to an inter-disciplinary team of full-time psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, and treatment coordinators, who are fully committed to the success and well-being of our students. Our department is currently seeking Psychologists to join our team in the beautiful urban city of Orlando, Florida.
Counseling and Psychologist Services (CAPS) seeks motivated and qualified candidates to apply to this position reporting to an Associate or Assistant Director on the Administrative Team and who are responsible for providing generalist mental health services, including, initial assessment, individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, outreach programming for the UCF community, and consultation to faculty/staff, students, parents, and others. Additional responsibilities include providing supervision and training for doctoral and masters interns and practicum students. Strong candidates will have previous experience providing comprehensive mental health services to diverse client populations, a commitment to multiculturally-informed counseling, and an investment in training future professionals. Responsible to Director, Associate Director, Assistant Director, or equivalent higher-level administration. This position/classification is considered a critical/essential position under the university's designation of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) as an essential responder/s to an emergency (unplanned event) or threat thereof which disrupt operations within the university.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions for this Position are:
Provides initial clinical consultation and assessment, crisis intervention, and brief psychotherapy to a diverse population of primarily graduate and professional school students.
Provides group counseling, both psychoeducational and process oriented.
Provides peer consultation, as well as consultation to University faculty and staff regarding concerns about students and the campus environment.
Designs and implements psychoeducational programs, outreach activities or post-vention activities for the campus community, including students, faculty, staff, campus organizations, related academic departments, and division units.
Develops/participates in working relationships with other departments that share an interest in student wellness and personal development.
Participates on center or campus committees and working groups.
Completes and maintains timely and accurate records in compliance with state laws and professional ethics codes.
Performs additional professional services based on individual skills and interests consistent with the center's need.
Engages in professional development activities to maintain licensure/certification and qualify to supervise doctoral/masters level trainees.
Provides supervision to graduate students in the Training program.
Performs other potential duties as assigned by the Counseling and Psychological Service's Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Psychology from an accredited college or university, which includes 1 year of supervised internship experience in professional psychology; or licensure as a psychologist by the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490, F.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in university counseling center or community agency work is preferred, including initial assessments and brief therapy, crisis intervention, group therapy, supervision and training, outreach, and community interventions as well as experience working with collaborative partner's on-campus.
It is preferred that the candidate be licensed or near licensure.
Culturally competent in working with a variety of diverse backgrounds, identities, and issues.
Experience in one or more of the following is also desired:
Interest and expertise in psychological assessments.
Program evaluation experience.
Experience with leading therapy groups (process and support).
Experience and expertise in working with eating disorders.
Other related specializations such as research informed practices, manualized treatments, or other treatment certifications, such as trauma reprocessing skills (i.e. EMDR or ART).
Prefer that candidate has already passed EPPP.
