Student Financial Assistance

The Office of Student Financial Assistance is dedicated to supporting UCF's mission and goals through the efficient delivery of student aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive offering of financial assistance options to support student success and the attainment of a university degree.

The Opportunity:

The Financial Aid Coordinator II supervises and manages the coordination of the awarding and the disbursement process of student loans (federal and private). These responsibilities combine program management and supervision with the global responsibility of managing all aspects of loans. These responsibilities are much more expansive and more complex than the entry-level program coordinator positions and combine responsibilities that were previously handled in two areas. The span of control and supervision is greater and requires more integration and coordination with other areas and within PeopleSoft.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises staff involved in loan processing and coordination of loan programs, both Awarding and Disbursement of student loans.

  • Evaluate and monitor quality assurance and compliance with regulations within PeopleSoft.

  • Coordinates with other staff in establishing and revising business processes as needed in PeopleSoft and loan management.

  • Coordinates and monitors all EFT disbursing, reviews reports, and ensures that all adjustments and revisions are processed efficiently.

  • Establishes new reports as needed in programmatic reconciliation within PeopleSoft.

  • Monitors and coordinates adjustments for over-awards and overpayments within PeopleSoft.

  • Works with Student Accounts, lenders, guarantors, and servicers to ensure compliance and efficient data sharing.

  • Serves as a backup in supporting the maintenance of PeopleSoft systems.

  • Provides advice and counsel to students and parents on all aspects of the financial aid process.

  • Attends meetings and workshops and maintains appropriate knowledge of federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations regarding financial aid.

  • Assists with Financial Aid outreach functions both off and on campus. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

  • Other appropriate duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors and 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial aid processing experience.

  • Working knowledge of Excel PeopleSoft.
