General Description:
Parrish Medical Group Mid-Level, CRNP, APRN Or Physician Assistant- Certified (PA-C) reports to Director of Operations.
Licensed Mid-Level provider(s) within Nephrology work collaboratively and under the supervision of Physician care partners in the provision of medical care. This includes care primarily within the hospital setting, however Mid-Level Providers within this specialty may be asked to assist occasionally with in office are. Key Responsibilities include physical exams, ordering and interpretation of diagnostics, patient education, treatment plan development and coordination of care, hospital rounding, intake of new admissions and routine communication with attending physician(s). Strong communication, collaborative work ethics, good time management, as well as timely/thorough documentation practices are among core characteristics needed to be successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hospital rounds with sponsoring/supervising physician.
  • Perform/dictate history and physical examination thoroughly and independently.
  • Perform/dictate progress notes thoroughly and independently.
  • Assist the nephrologist in the dialysis center and with all dialysis modalities offered.
  • Complete discharge instructions if required.
  • Complete required insurance/other forms.
  • Initiate and/or transcribe orders of supervising physician or those orders established by protocol (Critical Care Units excluded).
  • Order and interpret lab results, x-rays, ABGs, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests with supervising physician corroboration.
  • Identify psychosocial and cultural needs of the patients and families and assist physician with patient management as required.
  • Identify family and patient needs with regards to preventative care, disease entity, medications, dietary restrictions, and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Observe and record vital signs and other pertinent clinical observations.
  • Expedite requests for consultations as authorized by the supervising physician
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work are

Requirements:

Formal Education:
  • Physician Assistant Masters Level Education or Nurse Practitioner Degree and Licensure

Work Experience:
  • Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner at a physician practice or in a hospital with a related specialty is strongly preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
  • APRN, CRNP Licensure, or Certified Physician Assistant (Florida License Required).
  • DEA required or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire.
