JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the integration of multiple disparate underlying technologies into a unified solution delivery. Provides technical input, inclusive of budget and schedule, for an attraction or attractions under an area of responsibility. This team member is responsible for integrating, ideating, developing, managing the development of, testing, and commissioning hardware and software systems as well as supporting efforts to evaluate and standardize the ways in which teams, platforms, and components communicate to deliver an epic and reliable experience for our guests and team members. This creative technologist will identify disruptive innovation and be charged with the technical product delivery across attraction, projects and platforms.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in managing the hardware/software integration process from detailed design to final release. Contribute to planning, budgeting, and design and implementation of applications, systems, and components in support of new Universal Creative work. Participate in software, network, and/or electronic architecture and technical reviews for various teams for inputs and to provide guidance for areas of risk or scope gaps. Works with Engineering & Safety, Facility & Construction team and contractors to ensure a clear line of communication regarding installation, system integration, test, and adjust activities.
  • Develops software/hardware. Codes, develops, installs, and/or tests software/hardware systems, including mockups and proof-of-concepts.
  • Edits and updates specifications as specifically assigned by management. Contributes to design, develop, install, and/or test integration scopes for hardware and software systems, including mockups and proof-of-concepts.
  • Performs engineering technical (calculation, design, drafting, research) support to the team and/or overall hardware/software as assigned. Contributes modifications to hardware/software systems as required based upon design and field conditions. Drive technical improvements across all scopes.
  • Participate with hardware/software development teams (external and internal). Facilitate input from multiple teams including operations and technical teams to create standardized solutions for integration of systems. Facilitate communication between teams for clear delineation of scope for each responsible individual and vendor.
  • Stay up to date with the latest in technology and industry trends and introduce new technology concepts. Particularly as it relates to protecting the intellectually property associated with the implementation of emerging technologies. Work closely with Creative development teams on creating the concept of the overall experience and ensuring delivery meets all creative requirements.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

Ability to perform the following is required:

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of creative and technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Ability to organize, manage, and analyze a complex series of tasks and/or data to design and develop advanced technologies
  • Comfortable influencing decisions of major nature. High degree of tact & diplomacy to obtain favorable decisions or maintain good will
  • Comfortable working in a non-routine environment with frequently changing situations
EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree in applicable technical field required or equivalent demonstrated skill and experience, Advanced Degree or equivalent demonstrated skill and experience.

EXPERIENCE

3+ years experience in direct theme park specific technical/engineering roles preferred or similar experience in related technical field.
